Key Account Manager, Commercial Property, Furniture and Fitout
“The job is about relationships, being honest, helping people, and hard work. The most important lesson I have learnt is to treat others as you would like to be treated, and that stays with me in all that I do.”
Adam has been with Bluestone since 2013, making him one of our most experienced account managers. This means Adam is a fountain of knowledge when it comes to finance, but also a well-established and popular member of the team.
As a specialist Key Account Manager his focus is the Commercial Property sector. Working with partners and clients to provide financial solutions to fund their fit out and refurbishment requirements.
“I really enjoy the variety of my job and not being chained to my desk. I like building strong relationships with Partners and in turn meeting new clients, understanding what they do, their fit out requirements and learning about their business. On the same day I could meet with a barrister chamber that’s been established for decades and a young start up business specialising in cutting edge technology”.
The early days
Adam was born in London and raised in Hertfordshire. His earliest memory is sitting on his father’s lap watching the FA Cup final on a colour TV. His early childhood ambition was to become a policeman. Whilst at school, however, he discovered a new interest.
“I joined a motor cycle display team! The team were fully sponsored by Honda and were originally part of an East London charity. This took up all my spare time and holidays and entailed traveling the country performing in County Shows etc throughout the summer whilst training and preparing in the winter. Whilst jumping over cars and though fire was a fantastic experience I can’t say it helped my school grades much!”
The world of work
Adam’s first full time job was as a Commercial Apprentice working in the lighting sector. This led into sales before a career within recruitment particularly specialising in commercial interiors.
“I had been working in recruitment for a long time with the main focus being the interiors sector, so, in consequence had a lot of very strong contacts throughout that world. Philip, one of the directors of Bluestone Leasing, contacted me – in conversation it became apparent that Bluestone represented an opportunity to utilise my contacts built over many years in a different way. This appealed to me so, I essentially placed myself! Working at Bluestone has allowed me accomplish exactly that.“
The future
Outside of work, Adam is surprisingly good at riding motorcycles and has an ambition to swim with whales one day. If he had the power to change the world, he would get rid of greed. He has an ethical, committed and straightforward approach to all that he does, making him an ideal ally for growing businesses.
